freezing/pausing

i have only had my phoenix for a month or so but is it normal for it to freeze /pause for about 5-30 seconds randomly. it seems to happen a few times during a half hour sitcom and seems to happen just when there is a punchline or when there is a critical moment in a movie. any thoughts?

I'm new to the phoenix myself but, I know that when I re scanned I have seen a lot better results lately. Also, I have read that right now, freezing is just part of this process. Not much help, just was thinking the same thoughts as you about 1 month ago.

Network

Some...times it will be....network issues. Depends on your setup. Some setups don't function as smoothly....as others. If you are wireless...you...may...have connectivity issues. Some find going to a static IP can...........help.

Direct to the router you'd think that you were golden. There are some drops from the server on occasion. Of course it may be your ISP or your service in general. Done any speed tests lately?

I am just curious, been reading about freezing issues with IKS. There is a gent who is pretty adamant that torrent programs will cause IKS units to freeze. I just do not know about that, so let me know if this helped in any way.

Seeing the same freezing on both my Solaris and Phonex. Some days are worse than others, some channels also appear to be worse than others as well. if that makes any sense. I have rescanned, reloaded the latest file, rescanned and not much makes any differance. as well there are a lot of Dish channels I can get at all. In fact the ones I can get are far outnumbered by the ones I can't. Ah such is life, i don't really expect it to get much better till someon cracks the N3 code.
PS; thanks to all the admins for all the support.

We have a total of 8 devices plugged into our LAN. We have noticed when number 1 son starts playing his multiplayer bang em up, shoot em up game that the drop outs sometimes gets overly annoying. Solution, unplug son who's not pulling his weight around here for awhile.

When you are going wireless it will never be quite as good as being hard wired. If you are having freezing issues (which is common with IKS) and it is minimal there is probably nothing (or little) you do about it, but if it has gotten to an annoying level of freezing (where you are tempted to launch your receiver out the window, or worse), I would try hard wiring the receiver to see if the freezing settles down, and if so I would look in to a much faster router, or simply put up with wires.
As usual make sure you are running the latest files, and updates. You can do this by checking the files sections, and How To's in your receivers section in the forum here at PureFTA.

One other method I use if every thing I try does not work, wipe every thing clean on your receiver, and start from scratch being careful to follow what ever instructions you have available. This is always a last resort for me, but effective.
