Question about the Working STB's

Hey folks; I'm hopeing that someone can answer this for me.

I keep hearing stories about these IKS boxes and I need some proof. I'm reading that the servers are up and down due to server issues, I get that, what I need to know is do they, "Nfusion, KBox, ect" perform like the old FTA stb's, meaning do they get all the channels all the time. If not will they ever get all the channels. I'm just asking for the best advice before I jump on the IKS bandwagon, I'd like to think that my money would be well spent on the right box and hopeing that I get all the channels all the time.

There are IKS boxes that work better than others, and deal better with channel list, freezing issues, and down time. Right now K Box seems to shine the brightest, but nFusion was the first one to really use IKS, and does alright. Sonicview has been having the most trouble lately, but promise a bright future. That being said, most people who own IKS boxes say it is better than nothing. You should know what was hot today, may not be a hot item tomorrow.
Actually, you need to read and explore on your own. I really would hate for you to buy a box because I, or someone else made a suggestion about one particular box. I use to run a Nova until it demise, and the freezing on that was minimal, most of the time. My opinion on that box at the time; well, it was just like every one else. It was better than nothing. As far as performing better? Well, I experienced freezing with stand alone fixes, down time, and periods of no fixes, so what is really better. TV is TV.

Well all i can say is its nothing like standalone... actually from what i see, i like it better iks... Very minimal downtime, and i mean minimal.. If down its not more then a few hours of server cleanups and your back up... As for channel lineups, no they dont get every single channel, but they have more then enough channels to make anyone happy... As for locals they are very limited as you can tell with a sub, its hard to sub to a tonne of locals anyways... Now the top 2 stbs (my opinion), is kbox and nfusion.. From what i have been reading the last few months there are hardly any negative reviews and very minimal freezing or downtime.. if you are looking into either one, well, you will have to look at the channel linup both have to offer... both have a tonne of sports, kbox has the nfl sunday ticket, and i believe nfusion does as well, but are having difficulties with it.. nfusion has a few more channels then kbox, but kbox has more international channels... Personally to me, you cant go wrong with either box.. As for the rest of them, i cant comment, i know sv is having trouble as of lately and cnx well not to sure... I hope this helps you out a bit.. If i were to tell anyone which box is the best for iks,, it would have to be kbox or nfusion... but again this is just my opinion...

At this time I thank the two of you for being honest. As I'm sure you both know I do read the forums and have seen all the hype about each box you guys mention. I like to test the waters if you will and get some unbiased opinions. As you guys also know by who I am, I'm into the UFC and I'm hoping to watch it once again on the tube. I'm also looking for great support which I've seen both boxes mentioned doing well in that department. I fully understand that what's here could be gone tommorrow and something else might just pop up out of the blue and that's a chance we all have to take when testing. I see that SV is doing some work on there servers and I'm sure that once there done they too will be in the running for lets call it 1st place in the IKS department. Time will tell right? That's the only saying that actually has any real meaning to it any more. For now I will watch the forums and read the issues with each box and make a decision when I think the time is right. With my luck, as soon as I make the purchase the fix for my Ultra will come out... Wishfull?

Joe.. you know me.. I never recommend one brand over another.. ever..
I can tell you at this time. there are no iks brands.. getting ppv movies.. cnx and illink were doing a couple of channels on weekends.. but. I have not seen them doing that lately..
Kbox at this time is doing the best of all of the iks brands.. will they tomorrow, who knows.
Nfusion. who is the original IKS.. after Neosat.. since that is where they got their technology from.. is doing good, but seem to be having minor server issues.. lately.. but still up more than they are down
Sonicview.. They are working on new servers and are actually removing channels from the old servers. so you will be getting less channels.. who knows how many channels are on the new servers.. but, if they ever get them right.. eventually they will add lots of channels to the mix.. they also plan on running software, that removes your ip address from the server for end user protection too.. but.. for now. on the old servers.. it will be a disappointment if you go that way..
CNX.. and Ilink seem to be sharing the same information with each other.. and they too are having some server issues.. but are up pretty good, most of the time
There is no perfect IKS system.. they all have server issues.. freezing issues.. none of them get all of the channels you were used to gettting..
Most of them.. do pay for the Main Event Sports events.. boxing, ufc, wrestling.. some pay for the immediate reply of those events as well..
The more you read, the more you will understand.. let us know, what you decide to do.. good luck, txsgent
